Springtime

Here in nature as the grass comes through

Every spring time there is a palpable feeling of relief as the noise of the cuckoo heralds the arrival of the warmth in the ground to finally bring the grass through to it's optimal growing temperature.

This year perhaps more than for a long time as we've had such a very long hard cold and wet winter and many of us are further brought down by end of winter infections having struggled longer than we should have!

But, that light hearted feeling that we feel as we see the grass shooting up, the morning chorus being multiple birds and the start of the warmth in the ground - and here, in my area, the immediate shutting of the top gates into the hay fields! - reflects much of my work with people.

After so many years, often of trying all sorts of ways to feel relief, they come to me and spend time with the horses and I, and we bring relief and hope - hope for the future and relief from the past.
