The one with the calf and the need to follow my own advice!

The clock is on and I need to phone the vet - all for good reasons though, Lunar was welcomed on to the farm and, whilst Moomoo is not overly happy, I did manage a little stroke yesterday whilst she was lying in her nest in the middle of the field (yeah, that wasn't quite in the plans, but hey ho, got to be adaptable in life!)
So, another baby in the growing up to give cow cuddles - and she's going to be awfully sweet at doing it as she's very adorable!
But today I was driving around rushing to get X,Y and Z as I did acknowledge that I really need "a few hours off farm", not remembering the last time I had one - and this was meant to be a rush up to find some new undies (I didn't!) and just have a look in Next at the cute Highland Cow things. On the way, I was like "let's go and find a beach or inlet or anything really so long as it smells of salt water" ................
So we drove on another few kms, found a lovely little inlet, parked up and walked to the end to see the widening towards the coast.
It was thick clouds, albeit not actually raining, and I had totally the wrong shoes and trousers on - but who cares about that - there was a bit of air away from flies on my face and the beautiful fresh smell of salt water and seaweed under my feet ...... (damned painful stones as well, especially when you've just your town shoes on!)
And, as ever, I reminded myself that I tell people that they need to get off farm and do something completely unnecessary every so often - because it's that unnecessary that is the most necessary thing of all - a break, time out, something else to think about - and just a stop to everything back home.
It was so vital that nearly there I suddenly remembered I'd left open both ends of the barn so double checked that we had shut the gate to the road on the way out and we weren't going to get home to find cow and calf going for an "off farm adventure" as well! :)
